Ömer Emeç was born in Aydın in 1988. After graduating from the Boğaziçi University, Faculty of Economics, Department of Business Administration, he completed his master’s degree in Business Administration from the Institute of Business Administration at Istanbul Şehir University and a Ph.D. in Islamic Economics and Finance from the Institute of Social Sciences at Istanbul University. Emeç served as an Assistant Specialist at Kuveyt Türk Participation Bank, a Business Development and Special Projects Specialist at Türk Telekom, and, at Albaraka Türk Participation Bank, successively as Manager of Strategy and Corporate Performance, Chief Economist, and Director of the Strategic Planning and Economic Research Unit. Starting in 2022, while working at Albaraka Türk as Deputy General Manager in charge of Strategy and Transformation and Chief Economist, he also served on the board of directors at AlbarakaTech Global. Emeç joined the Halkbank family as a Consultant in April 2026 and has been serving as Deputy General Manager for Strategy, Transformation, and Ecosystem as of June 24, 2026.
