The Halkbank Sports Club was founded on July 21, 1983 to foster new and successful athletes in Turkey and promote the development of sports in our country. Under its red, white, and blue banner, the club has contributed to Turkish sports – particularly volleyball and handball –for many years.

During its 26-year history, the Halkbank Sports Club has helped numerous young people participate in Turkish sports by providing support for amateur athletes. After its founding the club was most active in football and volleyball, but from the 1990s onwards it has concentrated on volleyball and handball. Having quickly ranked among the champions in volleyball and handball, the Halkbank Sports Club has achieved many national and international victories now in the annals of Turkish sports history.

Having many championships in the Turkish Volleyball Leagues, the Halkbank Sports Club won the most championship titles in the Turkish Volleyball Leagues between 1992 and 1996, including five-time consecutive champs in the Turkish First Volleyball League and two-time winners of the Turkish Cup – a record that is tough to beat! Moreover, the Halkbank Sports Club has become one of the most successful Turkish handball teams – as four-time Turkish League champions, one-time Turkish Cup champions, and three-time Presidency Cup champions.
